RoKAF KF-5E Tiger II fighter, ca.1980s-present.
The KF-5E Tiger II is a licence-built variant of the American Northrop F-5E Tiger II fighter aircraft operated by the Republic of Korea Air Force (RoKAF). Produced jointly by Korean Air Industries (airframe) and Samsung Precision (engines) in the 1970s to bolster the RoKAF's capabilities against the threat posed by North Korea. While newer and more advanced fighters have been introduced, the KF-5E continues to play a vital role in South Korea's air defence.
