DM33 introduced in 2004 is the most advanced KE penetrator round in service today. It uses a new type of DU penetrator that is more effective against modern armour. The DM33 was developed in response to new Russian and Chinese armour technologies. The DM33 is used by the German Army and other NATO countries, including the United States.
