Soviet Heavy Ballast Tractor KZKT-74282 Rusich, c.1990–present.
The KZKT-7428 Rusich prime mover is designed to haul semi-trailers with heavy loads up to a maximum weight of 70 tons. It entered service with the Soviet Army in 1990 succeeding the MAZ-537. The truck is manufactured by Rusich JSC (formerly Kurgan Plant of Wheeled Trucks), and KZKT-7428 series vehicles are also commercially available for use in the oil and gas industry. Several variants are produced including this ballast tractor model KZKT-74282 for hauling aircraft and other heavy or oversize indivisible loads.
The Rusich prime mover is powered by the YaMZ-8401.10-14 turbocharged diesel engine, developing 650 hp, located behind the cab. The KZKT-7428 has considerable cross-country capability, and is designed to operate in climatic conditions ranging from -50 to +50C. Fuel consumption approx 2-3mpg.
