The YPR-765 PRI.50 is a Dutch variant of the M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) specifically adapted as an Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV). It was developed in the 1970s by DAF, featuring a turret-mounted Oerlikon KBA-B02 25mm cannon and a co-axial FN MAG 7.62mm machine gun. The PRI.50 can carry seven infantry troops and provides fire support with its 25mm autocannon, designed to engage light armoured targets and infantry. The vehicle also includes night vision capabilities and smoke grenade launchers, enhancing its operational versatility.
The Netherlands has supplied these vehicles to Ukraine for troop transport and combat support roles in the face of Russian aggression. The YPR-765’s mobility and moderate firepower make it suitable for exploratory, offensive, and defensive operations, albeit with limitations in protection compared to modern IFVs. The Netherlands has committed to further support Ukraine with additional units and spare parts.
