USS Langley AV-3.
US Navy seaplane tender converted from CV-1 and reclassified AV-3 in April 1937. Tending primarily in the Pacific, LANGLEY was scuttled after being immobilized in a Japanese air attack south of Java on 27th February 1942. LANGLEY was an early US Navy loss following America's entry into WW2 after Pearl Harbor on 7th December 1941.
